To learn more or schedule a visit, please contact us or explore the Arabian Horse Association’s Discovery Farm program at www.arabianhorses.org.
Behavior Education at Spirit Keeper Equine Sanctuary provides personalized behavior modification and training for Arabians and Half-Arabians, both rescued and registered, as well as for other animal species. The sanctuary also offers community programs that foster education on horse behavior and animal behavior in general. Many of the horses have roots in Lori Torrini’s Deseos Arabians lesson program. Today, Lori is a professor of animal health and behavior who opens her sanctuary to the public, combining professional knowledge with a heartfelt mission to deepen understanding and respect for horses.

As a Discovery Farm, Spirit Keeper Equine Sanctuary offers gentle, no-pressure introductions to Arabian horses in a real-life farm setting. Visitors can meet, groom, and interact with these beautiful horses while learning firsthand about their behavior, history, and breed characteristics. Each visit is designed to create a welcoming and memorable experience that reflects the Arabian Horse Association’s goal of inspiring newcomers and building lasting connections with the Arabian breed.

Our Story
Spirit Keeper Equine Sanctuary grew from a lifelong passion for horses, especially the Arabian and Half-Arabian breeds. One of the founders, Lori Torrini, began her equestrian journey teaching lessons through the Deseos Arabians riding program, where many of the horses now living at Spirit Keeper once served as patient and talented teachers. Over time, Lori’s work expanded beyond riding instruction to include behavior modification, rehabilitation, and training for horses and other species.

The sanctuary is now home to both registered and rescued Arabians and Half-Arabians, as well as other horses in need of a safe place to live, learn, and thrive. Lori’s background as a professor of animal health and behavior shapes every aspect of care, from individualized training plans to community education programs.

Our mission is to offer a safe haven for special horses, share their unique stories, and help people better understand, appreciate, and connect with them. As part of the Arabian Horse Discovery Farm program, we open our gates to visitors, inviting them to experience the beauty, intelligence, and heart of the Arabian breed in a welcoming, no-pressure environment.
